The development of this site included the use of cascading style sheets, PHP, HTML, mySQL, and Javascript. PHP is used for includes on the site, making updates quicker and easier, also for the the recording of comments and user statistics into a mySQL database. I used Javascript into the development of the project/services areas to display the pictures in in a clean way. This site uses many new aspects of web 2.0 development and many improvements are planned in the coming months.

This section of the Rod's Welding site provides the employees with an ability to see a detailed analysis website's activity. The analysis provides access to comments submitted through the website along with detailed specifications of each user who visits the pages on Rod's Welding.com. The web portal also uses a Twitter-esque interface to provide quick updates on the main page. This application displays a daily count of unique visitors, new comments submitted, and notes from the webmaster. The portal also has an integration with Google Apps allowing access to email, documents, contacts, and a calendar. A link to the portal is provided but access is only granted to employees of the company.
Raechul Mae's blog is a site being used for self promotional purposes. The site utilizes a Wordpress plugin to provide the author with updating ease. A custom theme was developed using CSS and images created via Photoshop. In addition, the site utilizes specialized PHP code that displays an updated resume from a file stored on Google Docs as if it were hard-programed on the site. The site also uses a RSS feed piped in from Twitter to supply an updated list of the authors currents tweets, much like what is displayed on the social updates part of this site.
In the near future, this site will have a portfolio section allowing the author to display all of her past and present projects. This will require an interface that will allow her to make easy updates and add new content whenever necessary.

This application was developed so that the members of WineMakingTalk.com can add their locations, national wine events, regional wine making events, homebrew stores, and wineries. This application is based on a single web page, allowing members to have access to information with ease. All of the markers are stored on a database on my local server. When a user enters data, it is sent to Google to be translated into latitude and longitude coordinates. Then after all the data has been cleaned and formatted correctly, it is entered into the database. When a user goes to the site, a XML file is used to display all of the markers on a map supplied by the Google API.
This application has provided me with great experience in developing and debugging a product for daily mainstream use. I have gained further experience in using the Google API, editing and maintaining user entered data, writing java, and using AJAX. The real challenge I faced was making everything essential to the map available from one webpage.
